Job Title: Financial Services Officer I (FSO I)
Location: East Texas
Schedule: Full-Time
Job Summary:
The Financial Services Officer I (FSO I) is responsible for delivering exceptional member experiences while supporting a wide range of financial services. This role combines new accounts, lending, and teller responsibilities, with a strong focus on building relationships, identifying member needs, and driving product and service adoption.
Key Responsibilities:
- Open, maintain, and close member accounts, including checking, savings, IRAs, and certificates (CDs)
- Assist members with account maintenance, troubleshooting, and general financial inquiries
- Process certificate renewals, account updates, stop payments, and other service requests
- Perform teller functions including deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, wires, and cash handling
- Interview members for consumer loans, complete applications, and guide loans through processing and funding
- Explain loan options, terms, and rates while ensuring accurate and timely documentation
- Proactively identify opportunities to cross-sell financial products and services
- Build and maintain strong member relationships to support retention and growth
- Ensure compliance with all credit union policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements (including BSA)
- Maintain accurate records, documentation, and reporting
Qualifications:
- 6 months to 2+ years of experience in banking, credit union, or financial services (teller, CSR, or loan processing)
- Strong understanding of deposit accounts, consumer loans, and general banking operations
- Knowledge of compliance regulations including BSA, CIP, and KYC preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and general computer systems
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
