General Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Packaging Room / Cryovac Operator to join our food manufacturing team. This position is responsible for operating and maintaining Cryovac packaging equipment, ensuring all packaging meets product specifications, and following Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) to maintain quality and food safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble, clean, and maintain packaging room equipment daily.

  • Operate the Cryovac packaging machine to produce accurately weighed packages.

  • Perform preventative maintenance and troubleshoot minor equipment issues.

  • Maintain cleanliness of the packaging room and equipment between product changes.

  • Accurately document production data and batch details.

  • Adhere to all safety, sanitation, and quality policies.

  • Support other departments or tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required.

  • Skills:

    • Basic reading and math skills.

    • Strong problem-solving abilities.

    • Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

    • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ year of experience in food manufacturing, packaging, or machine operation.

Work Environment & Physical Demands

  • Fast-paced production environment.

  • Wet, slippery floors; temperatures between 60°F and 90°F with high humidity.

  • Physically demanding work: frequent lifting (up to 50 lbs), bending, twisting, climbing ladders or stairs.

  • Must be available for overtime and occasional Saturday shifts.

  • Potential for 12+ hour shifts during peak production periods.
