Job Summary
The Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) Coordinator supports the implementation and continuous improvement of the company’s Health, Safety, Environmental, and 6S programs within a manufacturing environment. This role assists facility leadership in maintaining regulatory compliance, minimizing workplace risk, supporting environmental initiatives, and fostering a proactive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities

Assist with HSE compliance reviews, general risk assessments, and safety evaluations to support Health, Safety, Environmental, and 6S programs.
- Maintain accurate and current HSE/6S logs, records, and documentation.
- Assist with compliance to all applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, and company policies.
- Prepare and maintain HSE/6S reports and documentation as required.
- Provide assistance, guidance, and recommendations to facility management on HSE and 6S matters.
- Participate in incident investigations, near-miss reporting, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) initiatives.
- Promote incident prevention, hazard awareness, and safe working conditions for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Assist in the development and delivery of HSE/6S training programs, audits, and budget planning.
- Assist with HSE compliance reviews, general risk assessments, and safety evaluations to support Health, Safety, Environmental, and 6S programs
- Observe all HSE regulations and ensure proper use of required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Encourage safe working practices and promptly correct or report recognized hazards.
- Recommend and assist in implementing improvements to job safety and operational efficiency.
- Effectively work with employees and leadership to drive cultural change, including overcoming resistance to safety initiatives.
- Maintain positive, proactive relationships with managers, employees, customers, and regulatory agencies.
- Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
Facility-Specific Responsibilities
- Conduct routine walkthroughs of the manufacturing floor to maintain HSE/6S presence and provide on-site support.
- Schedule and conduct HSE/6S meetings, safety trainings, inspections, and audits.
- Perform regular facility HSE/6S inspections and monitor corrective actions.
- Evaluate PPE requirements, ensuring proper selection, use, and maintenance.
- Enforce compliance with regulatory requirements (OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA) and company HSE/6S policies.
- Oversee Hazardous Waste Storage areas, ensuring proper labeling, containment, documentation, and disposal in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Assist in developing and maintaining Job Hazard Analyses (JHA).
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the HSE Manager.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be computer literate.
- Associate Degree in Occupational Health & Safety Sciences preferred, OR
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS/HSE) role.
- Technical writing skills are a plus.
