Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM. Overtime as required.
Are you an experienced Maintenance Mechanic with a background in manufacturing, packaging equipment, or industrial machinery? We are seeking a skilled professional to support the maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and operation of filling and packaging equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, diagnosing equipment issues, completing mechanical repairs, and ensuring production equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Repair or replace defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on machinery, equipment, and building systems to ensure efficient operation and minimize downtime.
- Inspect drives, motors, belts, and other mechanical components; check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform scheduled maintenance activities.
- Utilize a variety of tools including hand tools, power tools, precision measuring instruments, and electrical/electronic testing devices.
- Assemble, install, maintain, and repair wiring, piping, machinery, and equipment.
- Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other machinery components.
- Diagnose mechanical problems and determine effective repair solutions using repair manuals and parts catalogs.
- Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment to identify malfunctions and production issues.
- Record maintenance activities, repairs completed, and associated costs.
- Dismantle equipment to access and remove defective parts using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools.
- Support the operation and reliability of filling and packaging equipment to maintain production efficiency.
Required Experience & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-3 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Experience working with filling and packaging equipment.
- Knowledge of industrial machinery, equipment maintenance, mechanical repair, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance practices.
- Ability to read and follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ability to perform basic math calculations and enter computer data accurately.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Willingness to work overtime as required.
Preferred Qualifications
Additional consideration will be given to candidates with:
- Exposure to quality management programs.
- Paint, coatings, or chemical manufacturing industry experience.
- Experience in a continuous improvement environment such as Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Total Quality Management (TQM).
- Previous experience with workplace safety programs.
