Job Full Description

As a Green Chain Puller / Stacker, you’ll be part of a hands-on millwork team producing high-quality, chemically treated and primed wood products used in residential and commercial construction. You’ll stay active with a variety of physical tasks, learn new skills, and work alongside a supportive, fast-moving crew. And the best perk? Essential Functions
1. Pulls, stacks and wraps wood trim products for shipment to customer.
2. Maintains a clean facility. Picks up and cleans all tools and equipment and disposes of all
wood scraps and paint spillage each day to eliminate potential hazards.
3. Performs materials handling and storage.
4. Loads and unloads trucks and hauls and hoists materials.
5. Ensures that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed. Brings problems
to the attention of the supervisor, general manager or HR manager.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne
particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a
variety of extreme conditions between mills. The noise level in the work environment can be
loud. The position regularly works near moving mechanical parts and in outside conditions that
include inclement weather, heat and humidity, and exposure to dust and wood and paint debris.
Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an
employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The position lifts heavy objects, walks and stands for long periods of time and performs
strenuous physical labor under adverse field conditions. The employee lifts, pushes, pulls or
carries objects up to 50 pounds; uses abdominal and lower back muscles to provide support
over time without fatigue; and effectively jumps, sprints or throws objects. The position requires
good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination. The
position requires the ability to quickly move arms and legs. The employee must have excellent
stamina.
Education and Experience
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Basic understanding of manufacturing environment preferred
• Basic understanding of millwork and woodworking preferred
• Ability to work independently, or as part of a small team to accomplish tasks required
• Ability to stand for duration of shift required
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds required
