Mechanical Assembler - 1st Shift

Location: New Berlin, WI
Shift: 1st Shift

Position Summary

The Mechanical Assembler is responsible for completing mechanical assemblies and manufacturing operations according to production prints, sales orders, and work instructions throughout the manufacturing process. This position plays a key role in ensuring products are assembled accurately, efficiently, and safely while maintaining high quality standards.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical components and equipment according to operation sheets, blueprints, shop travelers, wire lists, repair directives, and verbal or written instructions.
  • Interpret and work from assembly drawings, production documentation, and manufacturing specifications.
  • Generate, maintain, and follow material pulls and assembly floor schedules.
  • Move materials and associated paperwork through the production process to finished goods inventory.
  • Maintain accurate production and status records.
  • Assist with rework and repair activities as required.
  • Safely lift materials and use overhead hoists when needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Contribute positively to team goals and workplace culture.

Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of manufacturing assembly experience required.

Skills & Abilities

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to follow documented procedures, processes, and work instructions.
  • Ability to read and understand simple drawings and blueprints.
  • Basic math skills including decimals and fractions.
  • Experience using measuring instruments and recording measurements accurately.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and perform basic wiring is a plus.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Forklift experience (stand-up and sit-down) is a plus.

Physical Requirements

  • Stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Frequently lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Frequently perform repetitive motions and hand-eye coordination tasks.
  • Occasionally push, pull, balance, stoop, kneel, and reach.
  • Ability to work safely in a manufacturing environment with ongoing production noise.

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing and assembly setting.
