Essential Functions
- Take accurate measurements of metal parts using calipers, templates and fixtures.
- Manage welding operations independently or in a group setting.
- Visually self-inspect work for any defects with limited guidance.
- Fabricate and polish welds
- Casting repair
- Scarfing
- Self inspect
Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED
- Additional instruction such as a welding certificate or technical diploma preferred and counted towards years of experience requirements.
- Preference given to candidates with experience operating a positioner and use of Flux Core and MIG weld wire.
- Aptitude to read and interpret blueprints and weld specifications.
- Basic mathematical skills such as addition, subtraction, fractions and decimals.
- Ability to perform precise measurements using a tape measure, square and weld gages.
- Basic computer skills required to accurately gather and input data from computer systems
