Meet the Owners

Scott Makinson and Emily Makinson are the local owners of the Express Employment Professionals located in Indianapolis, IN (East side). The east side office was launched in March of 2005 and quickly earned a reputation for responsiveness and service excellence, achieving the coveted “Circle of Excellence” award in 2007. Under new ownership since 2009, Scott and Emily, along with their team, set the standard for personal service and operational excellence by achieving a “Fast Track” award for 2010, followed by Circle of Excellence awards in 2011 through 2022. Scott attributes his success to the team that works at his office and their dedication to serving our clients and associates. Scott & Emily first met through a staffing company while going through the evaluation hire process as associates. Little did they know that their experience in staffing would come full circle 15 years later as they help clients and associates find the right match for their skills and needs.

Scott earned his MBA in Entrepreneurship at Ball State University in 2008. He attended the University of Oregon where he received his bachelor’s degree in business management, finance, and psychology. Before joining Express, Scott held various sales roles in data networking, telecom, and medical software companies.

Emily has a B.S. in biology from Indiana University. Prior to joining Express, she worked as a Market Strategist for C.P. Morgan Homes.

Scott is committed to the Indianapolis community serving in a leadership capacity for the Lions Club, and as a member of two local Chambers of Commerce. The Makinsons are also active members of their local church, soccer, and school communities.
