Job Full Description
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Drafter with experience in SolidWorks and AutoCAD to support our design and engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and modifying 2D and 3D CAD models, transferring AutoCAD drawings to SolidWorks, and applying drafting standards. Experience with Draft features and Mold Tools in SolidWorks is required for specific projects involving cast and molded components.
Here's What Your Day-to-Day Looks Like:
Key Responsibilities:
• Convert and transfer AutoCAD 2D drawings into SolidWorks 3D models while ensuring accuracy and design intent.
• Create and update detailed drawings, assemblies, and BOMs following industry and company standards.
• Utilize Draft features in SolidWorks to ensure manufacturability and proper part design.
• Apply Mold Tools in SolidWorks for projects requiring molded or cast components, including draft analysis and core/cavity separation.
• Collaborate with engineers and designers to refine designs and optimize manufacturability.
• Maintain proper version control of drawings and documentation in the company’s PDM system.
• Review and check drawings for accuracy, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Assist in design modifications based on engineering changes or feedback from manufacturing.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Proficiency in SolidWorks, including Draft features and Mold Tools.
• Strong experience in AutoCAD with the ability to transition drawings into SolidWorks.
• Understanding of manufacturing processes, including casting and molding.
• Ability to interpret and create technical drawings and GD&T.
• Familiarity with PDM systems and version control best practices.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in foundry, injection molding, or machining environments.
• Knowledge of simulation tools for mold flow or stress analysis.
• Certification in SolidWorks (CSWA, CSWP) is a plus.
