Job Summary:
The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, sanitary, and
welcoming environment throughout Asteria Health. This role supports safety, and
cleanliness by ensuring all assigned areas meet the organization's cleanliness standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Clean offices, restrooms, breakrooms, lobbies, hallways, and other assigned areas
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and polish floors, furniture, windows, and fixtures
- Empty trash in a timely fashion
- Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, tissues, hand sanitizer, and toilet paper
- Clean and sanitize high-touch surfaces using approved cleaning agents
- Operate and maintain housekeeping equipment safely and efficiently
- Report maintenance issues, safety hazards, damaged equipment, or supply shortages to the supervisor
- Always follow OSHA, and facility safety guidelines
- Respond promptly to urgent cleaning requests and possible spills
- Participate in departmental meetings and mandatory SOP training sessions
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous housekeeping or environmental services experience in a healthcare setting is an advantage, but not required
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and infection control practices.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift 35 pounds throughout the workday.
- Ability to push and pull housekeeping carts and equipment.
- Ability to work in environments requiring the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Working Conditions:
• Pharmaceutical manufacturing environment with exposure to cleaning chemicals.
• Must comply with all confidentiality policies.
• May be required to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and overtime based on
operational needs.
