Location: Tolleson, AZ
Schedule: Morning Shift | 2-2-3 Schedule | 6:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Starting Pay: $33.50/hr
Department: Maintenance
Reports To: Maintenance Lead
Travel Required: None

 

Position Overview:
We are seeking a self-motivated, team-oriented Certified Maintenance Team Member to support plant operations through proactive maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and repair. This role requires strong mechanical and electrical skills, the ability to work independently, and a hands-on approach to ensure optimal performance of facility systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic equipment

  • Perform equipment modifications, rebuilds, and preventive maintenance

  • Conduct routine maintenance welding and basic fabrication tasks

  • Maintain spare part inventory and ensure parts are properly located

  • Execute general facility maintenance, including plumbing and HVAC

  • Follow all safety procedures and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)

  • Maintain clean, hazard-free work areas

  • Perform scheduled maintenance on systems including:

    • Flour systems, dust collectors, presses, dryers, and sifters

    • Packaging equipment: scales, code daters, printers, and case packers

    • Boilers, chillers, air compressors, HVAC, and water treatment systems

    • Alvey case lifts, conveyors, palletizers, and other automation systems

Work Requirements:

  • Must be flexible to work a 2-shift operation and occasional overtime

  • Communicate effectively with team members and across departments

  • Use good judgment to maintain personal and team safety

  • Support efficient production through rapid troubleshooting and repair

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • 5–6 years of relevant maintenance experience (preferably in food manufacturing)

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and technical training

  • Ability to read and interpret manuals, blueprints, and schematics

  • Solid understanding of:

    • Electrical distribution and control circuits

    • PLC theory and programming

    • Boilers, pneumatic conveying systems, pumps, and pasta drying equipment

  • Skilled in operating shop equipment:

    • Drill press, lathe, hydraulic press, grinders, band saw, milling machine

  • Advanced welding capabilities: MIG, TIG, stick, gas acetylene

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift 50 lbs unassisted (up to 100 lbs occasionally)

  • Must be able to kneel, crawl, climb, and work at elevations

  • Strong visual acuity and verbal communication required
