Job Full Description

Technical Support Specialist – Mechanical/Electrical Equipment
Full-Time | 100% On-Site | Paid Training Provided

Are you mechanically inclined or have a background in electrical systems? Are you known for your ability to troubleshoot and explain complex processes in a way that makes sense to anyone? We are seeking 4 Technical Support Specialists to join a dynamic support team working hands-on with customers over the phone, via email, and through chat to provide expert assistance with lawnmowers, generators, and similar machinery.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with strong mechanical or electrical experience—such as gas engine repair, small motor work, or hands-on troubleshooting—who are looking to shift into a technical support career.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide first-call resolution technical support for lawn equipment, generators, and related machinery.

  • Troubleshoot and guide customers through repair or maintenance processes via phone, email, and chat.

  • Navigate multiple systems including NetSuite, Microsoft Office Suite, and internal databases to support customers and order parts.

  • Interpret diagrams, wiring schematics, and product manuals to assist with diagnosis and parts identification.

  • Quote parts and provide guidance based on internal pricing and manuals.

  • Work 8-hour shifts with strict adherence to schedule (attendance and punctuality are essential).

  • Participate in a 1–2 hour shadow day to ensure interest and comfort with the role before final hire.

  • Complete a 2-week training period including hands-on product training in the warehouse.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Hands-on experience with mechanical or electrical repair (e.g., motorcycles, mowers, generators, appliances, etc.)

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills — able to clearly explain technical information to non-technical customers.

  • Comfortable in high-pressure environments, especially during storm season or emergency response scenarios.

  • Ability to multitask, remain calm and empathetic, and handle urgent inquiries with professionalism.

  • Skilled at interpreting blueprints, part diagrams, and troubleshooting documentation.

  • Flexible with schedule and open to mandatory overtime during peak storm periods.

Tools & Software:

  • NetSuite (for parts ordering)

  • Microsoft Office Suite

  • Internal CRM systems and customer portals

Performance Metrics Include:

  • Call availability and responsiveness (live agent within 30 seconds)

  • First-call resolution rates

  • Missed/abandoned calls

  • Call duration and wait times

Additional Details:

  • On-site position only – no remote work

  • Average call volume: 10–15 calls per day

  • Open to experienced Customer Service Agents with strong mechanical aptitude

  • Interviews include phone screening and in-person STAR behavioral interviews with leadership

If you’re passionate about helping others, mechanically savvy, and ready to transition into a technical support role, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today and become a key part of a responsive, high-performing technical support team!
