Job Full Description
Job Duties:
- Set up, operate, and maintain laser cutting machines, including the Amada 9K ENSIS 4020 Fiber Optic Laser, to cut materials up to 1” thick with precision and accuracy.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and DXF files to program and configure laser cutting parameters for optimal results.
- Load and unload materials, align and calibrate laser beams, and adjust settings to ensure precise cuts and high-quality output.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on laser equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct dimensional inspections using precision tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers) to verify parts meet customer specifications and quality standards.
- Document production activities, including part counts, material usage, and any issues, and report defective materials or equipment malfunctions to supervisors.
- Collaborate with team members across departments to support production schedules and continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements:
- Must have high school diploma or GED
- Able to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and DXF files to program and configure laser cutting parameters for optimal results
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints and technical drawings
- Knowledge of safety regulations
- At least 1-2 years of experience operating a CNC laser cutting machine
- Experience with Amanda or Trumpf lasers preferred
- Forklift operation experience or willing to trained on one is a plus
- Familiarity with precision measuring tools - calipers, micrometers, gauges
- Familiarity with laser cutting machines
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as loading/unloading materials and operating machinery
Work Schedule: 6am to 4pm Monday - Friday w/ OT as needed
