Pump Assembly Technician
Express Employment Professionals is hiring an experienced Pump Assembly Technician!
Position Details
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM–2:00 PM
- Pay: $21.00–$26.00 per hour (DOE)
Job Purpose
Perform in-shop assembly of new construction pumps, assist with inventory-related assignments and general shop duties, and support field service projects as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Assemble and disassemble pumps in the shop.
- Perform comprehensive inspections of pumps and components.
- Identify causes of mechanical and electrical pump failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Perform daily maintenance of department equipment and tools.
- Record and monitor labor and materials associated with each order.
- Assist with inventory functions, including stocking, pulling parts, and conducting inventory audits.
- Assist service mechanics with field repairs as needed.
- Follow inventory control and company procedures.
- Maintain professional conduct and effective communication with team members and other departments.
- Follow all Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements and complete required training.
- Immediately report workplace hazards and incidents to management or the appropriate EHS representative.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and recommend solutions related to safety and EHS.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience assembling pumps required.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience with vertical and/or horizontal pump assembly preferred.
- Experience with crane lift rigging preferred.
- Mechanical aptitude.
- Basic electrical fundamentals.
- Ability to read and operate precision measuring instruments.
- Forklift experience preferred; must be able to successfully complete forklift training.
- Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
- Must be able to work overtime when required.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

- Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled factory environment.
