Job Description for Delivery Driver:
- Availability to work a full-time schedule that depends on shipment schedules, which may include work before/after hours, weekends, and holidays.
- The ability to routinely operate standard warehouse equipment like forklifts and pallet jacks.
- Physical capacity to frequently stand, walk, and use hands. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds; lifting over 50 pounds requires two or more people.
- A mindset that constantly seeks efficient ways to improve.
Precision & Route Management
- Own the Outcome: Execute assigned warehouse jobs and driving routes efficiently, ensuring all tasks are accomplished.
- Time is Critical: Immediately report any anticipated deviation from the schedule—including delivery times, start times, or meal breaks—to your Supervisor.
- Handle with Care: Manage all cargo with the utmost care; no dropping, hitting, throwing, or stepping on freight. Follow all handling signs.
- Be a Double-Checker: Consistently double-check counts and documentation to prevent errors like cargo missing or miss-labeling.
Safety & Equipment
- Safety First: Prioritize safety in all actions and perform safety precautions to keep the environment secure. Use provided safety belts for back protection.
- Maintain Our Assets: Perform basic maintenance on the warehouse and equipment (e.g., sweeping, organizing, washing vehicles, checking fluids like DEF).
- Professional Vehicle: Driving may be required. Keep all working areas, including the inside of vehicles, clean and free of trash.
Communication & Professionalism
- Be the Expert: Study and understand cargo status (Chilled/Frozen/Dry), logistics terminology (e.g., Class 9, AWB, BOL), regulations, and documents.
- Team Player: Work as a supportive team member, helping others and sharing knowledge (techniques and know-how) as needed.
- Professional Conduct: Treat every customer and driver with professionalism. Report, consult, and share information clearly and effectively.
What You'll Bring
Requirements for Delivery Driver:
- Valid Driver's License (Class C minimum).
- Clean Driving Record (Acceptable MVR; no major violations).
Physical & Functional
- Ability to safely lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs frequently.
- Physical Endurance for extended sitting, walking, and labor in all weather.
- Proficiently use delivery equipment (lift gates, pallet jacks, dollies).
- Ability to use GPS and route planning tools.
