-
Precision Sewing: Operate and maintain various industrial sewing equipment (single-needle, double-needle, sergers) to construct complex, multi-layer garments from technical fabrics such as Nomex, Kevlar, and specialized high-denier synthetics.
-
Safety Compliance: Ensure all sewing techniques, stitch counts, and seam types (e.g., flat-felled, reinforced) adhere strictly to internal quality specifications and external safety certifications (e.g., SFI, FIA, NASA standards).
-
Pattern Interpretation: Accurately read and interpret technical specifications, patterns, and marker sheets to correctly assemble garment components, including gussets, articulated joints, cuffs, and integrated harness points.
-
Quality Control (QC): Perform continuous self-inspection and intermediate quality checks on all work to identify and correct defects immediately, minimizing material waste and ensuring zero-defect output.
-
Machinery Operation: Set up, thread, and adjust tension, stitch length, and timing on assigned sewing machines for optimal performance on diverse fabric weights and thicknesses.
-
Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with Cutting, Design, and Quality Assurance teams regarding material preparation, assembly issues, and production flow improvements.
-
Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on sewing equipment (cleaning, oiling) and report necessary repairs promptly.
-
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in industrial, commercial, or technical garment manufacturing.
-
Demonstrated expertise in working with heavy-duty, technical, or specialized fabrics (e.g., FR materials, canvas, leather, heavy nylon).
-
Mastery of various industrial sewing techniques, particularly flat-felled seaming and reinforced stitching for structural integrity.
-
Exceptional attention to detail and ability to maintain consistent stitch quality under production timelines.
-
Ability to stand, sit, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.
