Controller – Strategic Financial Leadership Opportunity
Location: Eureka, CA (in person) | Salary: $110,000–$130,000/year | Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage all core accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll (including Prevailing Wage), and general ledger operations.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and industry-specific financial regulations, reporting standards, and internal policies.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, balance sheet reconciliations, and monthly/quarterly reporting packages for executive leadership.
- Oversee budgeting and forecasting processes, providing strategic insights to support business planning and growth initiatives.
- Manage cash flow and liquidity, ensuring optimal financial health and timely vendor and payroll disbursements.
- Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure accuracy in financial reporting.
- Collaborate with external auditors and legal advisors, ensuring timely and accurate documentation for audits, contracts, and regulatory filings.
- Mentor and supervise finance and HR staff, fostering a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and professional development.
- Streamline financial operations, identifying opportunities for automation, efficiency, and cost savings across departments.
- Maintain corporate records and documentation, including contracts, insurance policies, employee handbooks, and licensing renewals.
- Support M&A activities, including drafting and reviewing asset purchase agreements and coordinating due diligence efforts.
- Administer company insurance policies and benefits, including renewals, quotes, and compliance with contractor license boards.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA/CMA preferred)
- 2+ years in corporate accounting and general ledger management
- Proficient in QuickBooks and Excel; experience with Quantum or Sedona Office a plus
- Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills
- Experience in the construction or trades industries is a bonus
