Job Summary
Responsible for maintaining grounds and vegetation at the Solar Farm. This role ensures optimal energy production by preventing vegetation from shading panels and maintains site safety and accessibility. Seeks a motivated, physically capable candidate committed to safety and environmental protocols.
Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Equipment: Safely operate string trimmers (weed whackers), mowers, leaf blowers, and hand tools.
  • Vegetation Control: Trim, mow, and edge around solar panels, infrastructure, and access roads to prevent shading and maintain clear pathways.
  • Brush Clearing: Clear overgrown vegetation to reduce fire hazards and improve aesthetics.
  • Site Safety: Strictly adhere to all safety protocols and wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Equipment Care: Perform routine pre-operation checks, basic maintenance, and cleaning of equipment.
  • Environmental Stewardship: Follow environmental guidelines to minimize disturbance to wildlife and habitats.
  • General Groundskeeping: Assist with site cleanliness and debris removal.
  • Team Collaboration: Work effectively with the team to efficiently complete vegetation management schedules.
  • Outdoor Work: Perform duties outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience: Proven experience in landscaping, groundskeeping, or operating string trimmers/weed whackers.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods (standing, walking, bending, lifting, operating vibrating machinery).
  • Safety Consciousness: Strong understanding of and commitment to workplace safety practices.
  • Communication: Basic communication skills to understand instructions and report issues.
  • Work Ethic: Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently or as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working on solar farms or other utility-scale energy projects.
  • Familiarity with environmental regulations specific to California or solar sites.
