Position Overview
Express Employment Professionals is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer / Machinist for a direct-hire opportunity with an established manufacturing organization.
This position is ideal for a skilled machining professional who enjoys a hands-on environment and has strong experience in CNC programming, machine setup, and precision manufacturing.
The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC mills and lathes while ensuring quality, accuracy, and production efficiency. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of the machining process, from developing programs to producing finished components.
Key Responsibilities

Program, set up, and operate Haas CNC mills and lathes to manufacture precision components.

Develop, modify, and optimize CNC programs using Mastercam.

Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work orders, and technical specifications.

Perform machining operations, including milling, turning, drilling, boring, tapping, threading, and grinding.

Set up tooling, fixtures, and machining equipment to ensure accurate production.

Inspect finished components using precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional accuracy and tolerances.

Troubleshoot programming, setup, and machining issues to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.

Assist with testing and refining new CNC programs and manufacturing processes.

Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify process improvements.

Provide guidance and training to CNC setup personnel and machine operators.

Maintain accurate production records and follow established safety and quality procedures.
Required Qualifications

4–6 years of CNC machining, programming, or related manufacturing experience.

Strong hands-on experience with Mastercam programming.

Proven ability to independently set up and operate CNC mills and lathes.

Experience with Haas CNC equipment strongly preferred.

Ability to create and modify CNC programs using engineering drawings and solid models.

Strong blueprint reading skills and understanding of machining tolerances.

Experience using precision measuring and inspection equipment.

Knowledge of cutting tools, machining techniques, tooling selection, and setup procedures.

Strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting abilities, and attention to detail.

Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with production and engineering teams.

High school diploma or GED required; equivalent combinations of education and relevant experience may be considered.

Ability to read and communicate technical information effectively in English.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience operating manual mills and lathes.

Familiarity with tooling and fixture design.

Experience machining complex or tight-tolerance components.

Knowledge of manufacturing quality control procedures.

Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills.
Work Environment & Schedule

Fully onsite position in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Regular schedule of Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM–4:00 PM.

Significant overtime and weekend availability required, depending on production demands.

Hands-on position requiring extended periods of standing, operating machinery, and performing precision machining tasks.

Ability to regularly lift and move up to 25 pounds, with reasonable accommodations available as required by law.
