Bottling Line Lead
Location: Healdsburg, CA
Employment Type: Full-time + Overtime as needed
Schedule: Evening shifts; must be available for nights, weekends, and overtime
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Bottling Line Lead to oversee all phases of bottling line operations, from set up to clean up, across multiple production lines (Tirage, Disgorging, and Still). This position is responsible for providing leadership, assigning work, and ensuring production runs efficiently, safely, and to client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily bottling line operations, including set up, clean up, and production flow
- Lead and train team members across all levels (General, Skilled, and Advanced Line Techs)
- Rotate between production line tasks as needed: inspection, packing/stacking, casing/uncasing, glass dumping, bottle transfers
- Operate and troubleshoot bottling line equipment including: Disgorger, Filler, Wirehooder, Corker, Shaker, Washer, Neck Freezer, Case Packer, Case Sealer, Palletizer, Monoblock, Foiler, and more
- Manage changeovers and assist with post-op maintenance in coordination with Maintenance staff
- Monitor production progress, review results, and provide instruction to staff
- Ensure packaging supplies, wine, and dosing match work orders; complete all required paperwork and bottling packets
- Work cross-functionally with Cellar, Lab, and Warehouse teams to ensure smooth operations
- Promote teamwork and maintain a safe work environment, enforcing safety practices, SOPs, and company policies
- Identify and assist in implementing process improvements to increase efficiency and product quality
- Document equipment issues, involve Maintenance when necessary, and report incidents of injury, damage, or safety concerns
Qualifications
- 7+ years of bottling line experience required
- Hands-on experience with bottling equipment changeovers (filler, labeler, rinser, foiler) strongly preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to problem-solve independently
- Forklift experience preferred
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Must be dependable, punctual, and maintain consistent attendance
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while ensuring safety and accuracy
- Comfortable lifting up to 55 lbs. and working at heights up to 25 ft.
- Willingness to work overtime, nights, and weekends as needed
- Ability to read and interpret work orders and production requirements
