Maintenance Technician
Location: Sonoma County Area
Pay: $23.00 – $28.00/hr DOE
Schedule: Full-time, overtime as needed
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support production by inspecting, repairing, constructing, and maintaining industrial equipment and facility systems. This role is essential to keeping production running smoothly, safely, and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance on plant equipment throughout the facility
- Inspect, service, repair, construct, and dismantle industrial processing equipment (mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical)
- Troubleshoot and repair motors, gearboxes, pumps, valves, loaders, and utilities
- Use welding and fabrication tools (MIG, ARC, TIG, plasma cutter, cutting torch, lathe, drill press, milling machine) to repair and fabricate equipment
- Install and maintain bearings, piping, tubing, cables, and wiring
- Document and report maintenance performed, and advise of future requirements
- Maintain and manage parts inventory for efficient repairs
- Support facility upkeep, including basic carpentry and plumbing work
- Participate in safety programs and follow all safety guidelines
- Perform maintenance in various conditions (heights, confined spaces, hot/cold weather, dust, noise, water, vibration)
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years’ education and/or experience with industrial equipment repair and maintenance
- Hands-on experience with motors, gearboxes, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, and valves
- 2–3 years’ metal fabrication experience (welding, cutting, machining)
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance programs for mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Ability to read, follow, and execute written and verbal instructions
- Industrial math skills (geometry, algebra, trigonometry)
- Forklift operation experience preferred
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills
- Excellent time management, dependability, and ability to meet deadlines
- Team-oriented with the ability to also work independently
Physical Requirements
- Ability to carry a tool belt weighing up to 20 lbs.
- Regularly lift/carry 20–50 lbs. independently; occasionally 100+ lbs. with assistance
- Ability to work under physically demanding and disagreeable conditions (dust, dirt, fumes, noise, heat, cold, vibration, confined spaces)
