Pay: $30.00 – $40.00/hr DOE
Schedule: Full-time, overtime as needed

 

 

Position Overview

 

We are seeking an experienced Millwright to inspect, repair, construct, and dismantle industrial equipment within a mill environment. This role ensures continuous production by maintaining equipment, troubleshooting issues, and supporting facility upkeep.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect, service, repair, construct, and dismantle industrial processing equipment (mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems)
  • Maintain and repair motors, gearboxes, pumps, valves, brake systems, and loaders
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, observation, and monitoring of equipment to ensure reliability
  • Utilize welding and fabrication tools (MIG, ARC, TIG, SMAW, GMAW, plasma cutting, torch cutting, lathe, drill press, milling machine) for repairs and custom fabrication
  • Read, interpret, and apply blueprints and technical drawings to guide work
  • Develop, refine, and execute preventative maintenance programs for plant equipment
  • Document all maintenance performed and provide recommendations for future requirements
  • Manage and maintain inventory of parts, tools, and maintenance equipment
  • Conduct equipment efficiency testing and recommend improvements
  • Perform maintenance in challenging conditions (heights, confined spaces, hot/cold weather, dust, noise, vibration, water)
  • Support basic carpentry and plumbing needs to maintain facilities
  • Contribute to and participate in company safety programs

 

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in the lumber industry, sawmill environment, or related heavy industrial setting
  • Advanced metal fabrication experience, including welding, cutting, machining, and equipment fabrication
  • Proven ability to install, troubleshoot, and repair industrial equipment
  • Proficiency with hydraulic, pneumatic, electrical, and mechanical systems
  • Bearing installation, lubrication, and care experience
  • Ability to identify and measure correct grades/sizes of bolts, pipes, tubing, cables, and wires
  • Experience implementing preventative maintenance programs
  • Forklift and rolling stock operation experience preferred
  • Strong blueprint/drawing interpretation skills
  • Industrial math skills: geometry, algebra, trigonometry
  • Strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Effective problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Self-motivated, dependable, and able to work safely under pressure

 

Physical Requirements

  • Carry tool belt up to 20 lbs.
  • Regularly lift/carry 20–60 lbs. independently; occasionally 100+ lbs. with assistance
  • Work performed in adverse conditions: exposure to dust, dirt, fumes, noise, heat, cold, vibration, and water
