Manufacturing company in Benicia, CA is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Generalist to support key functions of the Human Resources department. This role requires hands-on experience in recruitment, applicant tracking systems, ADP payroll processing, timesheet management, and workers’ compensation administration. The ideal candidate is highly organized, possesses strong interpersonal skills, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment.

Assignment Details: Temporary, 5-6 months

Pay rate: $23.00 - $28.00 DOE 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment & Onboarding
    • Manage full-cycle recruitment: posting jobs, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and coordinating offers.
    • Utilize Applicant Tracking Systems (ADP) to maintain candidate pipelines and job requisition workflows.
    • Prepare onboarding materials and facilitate new hire orientations.
  • Payroll & Timekeeping
    • Assist with processing payroll through ADP Workforce Now, ensuring accuracy in pay, taxes, and deductions.
    • Time off requesting.
    • Review and validate weekly employee timesheets; follow up on discrepancies or missed punches.
    • Support payroll audits and reporting as needed.
  • Employee Records & Compliance
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in both digital and physical formats.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and internal policies.
    • Assist with benefit enrollments and changes, leave tracking, and reporting requirements.
    • Assist in resolving employee issues and conflicts.
    • Assist with audits, EEO, ACA, and other regulatory reporting as needed.
  • Workers' Compensation
    • Coordinate reporting of workplace injuries and file workers’ compensation claims.
    • Serve as liaison between the company, insurance providers, and injured employees.
    • Maintain documentation and ensure timely communication and follow-ups.
  • General HR Support
    • Support HR Managers with various projects, investigations, and employee relations matters.
    • Assist with training initiatives and employee engagement activities.
    • Responding to employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in a Human Resources or HR support role.
  • Proven experience in recruitment, ADP management, ADP payroll, and workers’ compensation.
  • Strong understanding of HR practices, labor laws, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS/ADP platforms.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
  • Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
  • P HR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
