Job Full Description
Manufacturing company in Benicia, CA is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive HR Generalist to support key functions of the Human Resources department. This role requires hands-on experience in recruitment, applicant tracking systems, ADP payroll processing, timesheet management, and workers’ compensation administration. The ideal candidate is highly organized, possesses strong interpersonal skills, and thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing or industrial environment.
Assignment Details: Temporary, 5-6 months
Pay rate: $23.00 - $28.00 DOE
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruitment & Onboarding
- Manage full-cycle recruitment: posting jobs, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and coordinating offers.
- Utilize Applicant Tracking Systems (ADP) to maintain candidate pipelines and job requisition workflows.
- Prepare onboarding materials and facilitate new hire orientations.
- Payroll & Timekeeping
- Assist with processing payroll through ADP Workforce Now, ensuring accuracy in pay, taxes, and deductions.
- Time off requesting.
- Review and validate weekly employee timesheets; follow up on discrepancies or missed punches.
- Support payroll audits and reporting as needed.
- Employee Records & Compliance
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in both digital and physical formats.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and internal policies.
- Assist with benefit enrollments and changes, leave tracking, and reporting requirements.
- Assist in resolving employee issues and conflicts.
- Assist with audits, EEO, ACA, and other regulatory reporting as needed.
- Workers' Compensation
- Coordinate reporting of workplace injuries and file workers’ compensation claims.
- Serve as liaison between the company, insurance providers, and injured employees.
- Maintain documentation and ensure timely communication and follow-ups.
- General HR Support
- Support HR Managers with various projects, investigations, and employee relations matters.
- Assist with training initiatives and employee engagement activities.
- Responding to employee inquiries regarding policies, benefits, and procedures.
Qualifications:
- 3+ years of experience in a Human Resources or HR support role.
- Proven experience in recruitment, ADP management, ADP payroll, and workers’ compensation.
- Strong understanding of HR practices, labor laws, and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS/ADP platforms.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in manufacturing or industrial settings.
- Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.
- P HR or SHRM-CP certification preferred.
