Staff Accountant – Full-Time | $30.00 - $35.00/hour

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting overall financial operations. This is a full-time, on-site position located in Benicia, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and maintain financial statements (balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements)

  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Manage AP/AR processes including invoicing, payment reconciliation, and vendor/customer communication

  • Ensure timely collections and disbursements

General Ledger & Journal Entries

  • Reconcile and maintain general ledger accounts

  • Prepare accurate journal entries

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting

  • Monitor variances and provide analysis

Compliance & Audits

  • Ensure adherence to accounting standards, policies, and regulations

  • Support internal and external audit processes

Payroll & Expense Reporting

  • Assist with payroll processing and employee expense tracking

  • Ensure timely and accurate disbursements

Project Costing

  • Track and analyze project costs

  • Provide cost reporting to project managers

Office Management Support

  • Assist with general office management duties as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)

  • CPA certification (preferred)

  • 3+ years of accounting experience (construction industry preferred)

  • Proficiency in QuickBooks, Sage, and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
