Manufacturing Firm in Benicia client is seeking an experienced Buyer-Planner to lead strategic sourcing initiatives and manage key supplier relationships. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in contract negotiation and supply chain management. This is a long term opportunity and the pay is $30.00 - $35.00 DOE!

- Process purchase requirements for various production materials
- Evaluate items for cost competiveness. Establish and maintain cost reduction programs
- Recommend new sources and suppliers.
- Negotiate blanket purchase contracts with new and existing suppliers that will deliver product at lowest total acquisition cost.
- Interact with a diverse group of suppliers regarding quality discrepancies, requisitions, and PO variances.
- Plan, modify, and reschedule purchase orders according to production schedules
- Develop and maintain Bills of Materials
- Assists with producing and scheduling production runs based on product demands
- Maintain the schedule and actively communicate changes to production team on a routine basis.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Buyer/Planner.
- High School or some college.
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills. Comfortable working under the pressure of time constraints. Strong interpersonal skills and a good presence.
- Strong math skills.
- Able to work on own and within a team environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and MRP systems.
