Reviewing files for records retention (identifying the type of file and date of the item and marking it with a review/destruction date and category after a lot of preparatory training and with me on hand to answer questions)

Answering calls and taking messages

Providing routine and pre-scripted replies to emails or calls during open enrollment or the beginning of the year when many employees will have the same questions and they are not sensitive

Printing and assembling materials for binders or packets for special projects

Preparing materials for new hire orientation

Greeting new hires and assisting with orientation

Packaging and shipping/delivering new hire and anniversary gifts

Designing monthly birthdays and anniversaries announcement sign (Using ppt. Bonus points if they can use filters and text to columns in xls so that I just have to pull the report for them)

Updating the phone list (Currently a twiddly thing made of text boxes in Word - would love to see this improved and open to suggestions!)

Being a second pair of eyes for editing text or comparing lists/data, etc.

Pulling files from the file upload software for managers (example, Joe's yearly review is coming up so pull last year's review and all disciplinary actions that have occurred since and email them to his manager)

Ensuring the birthday cards for the month make the rounds through the executives and are delivered to employees
