Position Summary
The Apartment Leasing Agent is responsible for assisting prospective residents throughout the leasing process while providing excellent customer service to current tenants. This position plays a key role in maintaining occupancy goals by conducting tours, processing applications, and promoting the apartment community in a professional and welcoming manner.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Greet prospective residents and provide information about apartment availability, pricing, and community amenities
- Conduct apartment and property tours
- Process rental applications, lease agreements, renewals, and move-in paperwork
- Maintain accurate resident and leasing records
- Answer phones, emails, and online inquiries promptly and professionally
- Assist current residents with questions, maintenance requests, and general concerns
- Market available units through online listings, social media, and community outreach
- Collect deposits and assist with rent payment processing
- Maintain knowledge of Fair Housing laws and company policies
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming leasing office environment
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous leasing, customer service, sales, or office experience preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and property management software preferred
- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- Professional appearance and positive attitude
- Weekend availability may be required
- Valid driver’s license preferred
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk apartment properties and climb stairs regularly
- Ability to sit, stand, and use office equipment for extended periods
- Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds
