Job Full Description
Position Summary:
A Paving Laborer assists with the construction, repair, and maintenance of roads, parking lots, driveways, and other paved surfaces. This position supports paving crews by preparing work areas, operating hand tools, and helping ensure projects are completed safely and efficiently.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with asphalt and concrete paving projects.
- Prepare job sites by cleaning, grading, and removing debris.
- Rake, shovel, and spread asphalt and aggregate materials.
- Operate hand tools and small equipment such as compactors, jackhammers, and saws.
- Direct traffic and set up work zone safety barriers and signage.
- Assist equipment operators and paving crew members as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Complete other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Previous construction or paving experience preferred but not required.
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
- Strong work ethic and willingness to perform physical labor.
- Reliable transportation and attendance.
- Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
Work Environment:
- Outdoor construction sites.
- Exposure to heat, cold, dust, noise, and moving equipment.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and repetitive physical activity.
