Quality Inspector
Direct Hire, Full-Time
Location: Coventry/Andover, CT area
Schedule:
- 1st shift, Monday - Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm
- 2nd shift, Monday - Thursday, 3:15 pm to 1:45 pm (must be able to train on 1st shift)
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Inspect incoming, in-process, and final aerospace components to ensure compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
- Perform dimensional inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, CMMs, optical comparators, etc.)
- Verify materials, parts, and assemblies meet AS9100 / ISO 9001 quality standards
- Review and interpret blueprints, GD&T, work instructions, and quality plans
- Document inspection results and maintain accurate inspection records and reports
- Identify nonconforming products and initiate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)
- Support first article inspections (FAI) in accordance with AS9102 requirements
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to resolve quality issues
- Ensure compliance with FAA regulations, customer requirements, and company quality procedures
- Participate in internal and external quality audits as needed
- Promote continuous improvement and adherence to safety and quality standards
Qualifications:
- Aerospace specific experience required
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T
- Experience with precision measuring instruments
- Knowledge of AS9100, AS9102 (FAI), ISO 9001, and aerospace quality systems
- Familiarity with root cause analysis and corrective action processes
- Basic computer skills (quality systems, inspection software, MS Office)
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
