TIG Welder | Direct Hire, Full-Time
Location: Coventry/Andover, CT area
Pay rate: $25-35/hr
Schedule:
- 1st shift, Monday - Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm
- 2nd shift, Monday - Friday, 3:25 pm to 1:45 am (must be able to train on 1st shift)
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Perform TIG welding on a variety of materials to precise specifications, in compliance with written procedures to aerospace standards.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints and welding symbols.
- Follow detailed work instructions and job travelers to ensure compliance with customer and industry requirements.
- Conduct in-process inspections and ensure quality standards are met.
- Prepare materials for welding by cleaning, fitting, and tracking components, and perform proper job set ups.
- Maintain welding equipment, tooling and workstation in clean, safe and good working order.
- Collaborate with Quality Control, Engineering and Production teams to resolve technical issues.
- Adhere to all company safety and quality procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, technical training and TIG welding certification required.
- 4+ years of experience in TIG Welding, in an aerospace manufacturing or precision machining environment.
- Experience working with aerospace alloys including aluminum, stainless steel and titanium.
- Proficiency in shop math, be able to accurately read operation sheets, blueprints and technical drawings.
- Ability to pass welding certification to aerospace standards.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Effective customer focused communication skills and teamwork mentality.
