Job Full Description
CNC VTL Machinist | Direct Hire, Full-Time
Location: Coventry/Andover, CT area
Pay rate: $25-35/hr
Schedule:
- 1st shift, Monday - Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm
- 2nd shift, Monday - Friday, 3:25 pm to 1:45 am (must be able to train on 1st shift)
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate CNC VTL machines to machine complex parts to tight tolerances
- Load programs, adjust offsets, and perform tool changes as needed
- Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, and work instructions
- Measure and inspect parts using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, height gauges)
- Perform first-article, in-process, and final inspections
- Monitor machine performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure part quality
- Perform routine machine maintenance and housekeeping
- Identify and troubleshoot machining or quality issues
- Follow all safety, quality, and production standards
- Work closely with engineering, quality, and production teams
Qualifications/Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of CNC VTL machining experience
- Strong understanding of CNC machining principles
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T
- Experience machining large or heavy components
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Willingness to work assigned shift and overtime as needed
