Assistant Production Manager | Direct Hire, Full-Time
Location: Berlin, CT
Pay rate: $60,000-90,000/year
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Assist the Production Manager in planning and organizing daily production activities to prioritize work flow on the shop floor
- Will be purchasing materials and performing vendor services for job orders
- Help manage production schedules and meet output targets
- Coordinate with supervisors, quality, maintenance, and supply teams
- Monitor production KPIs (quality, efficiency, downtime) and suggest improvements
- Support documentation of production data and reports
- Ensure adherence to safety procedures and quality standards
- Assist with training and mentoring production staff
- Troubleshoot production issues and escalate as needed
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Prior experience in a job shop/manufacturing required
- High school diploma or GED (Associate or Bachelor’s degree preferred)
- 1–4 years of experience in production, manufacturing, or operations support
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams
- Comfortable using production tracking systems and MS Office
- Problem-solver with attention to detail
