Furnace Operator
Location: Manchester, CT
Schedule:
- 2nd shift, Monday - Friday, 4 pm to 12:30 am
- 3rd shift, Tuesday - Saturday, 12 am to 8:30 am
Pay rate: $21/hr
Responsibilities:
- Operate and monitor industrial furnaces (heat treat, batch, continuous, vacuum, etc.)
- Load and unload parts using carts, fixtures, or material-handling equipment
- Set and verify temperature, time, and atmosphere controls
- Monitor furnace cycles and record process data
- Inspect parts before and after processing
- Perform basic equipment checks and preventive maintenance
- Follow all safety, quality, and environmental procedures
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Manufacturing or furnace/heat-treat experience preferred
- Ability to read work instructions and process sheets
- Basic math and documentation skills
- Ability to work in hot environments
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Strong attention to safety and detail
