Maintenance Mechanic – CNC Troubleshooting Required
Portland, CT | Full-Time| $30–$41/hr + Benefits | Direct Hire
Are you a skilled Maintenance Mechanic who thrives on solving complex machine issues especially CNC equipment?
Do you take pride in keeping production running, minimizing downtime, and being the go-to expert on the floor?
Our partners, a with a high-performing aerospace and defense manufacturer looking for a hands-on, experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join their team.
What You’ll Do
- Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain CNC machines, production equipment, and mechanical systems
- Perform preventive maintenance on motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, and more
- Diagnose issues using schematics, manuals, and precision tools
- Disassemble and rebuild equipment using hand tools, hoists, and cranes
- Assist with machine installations, relocations, and upgrades
- Partner with vendors for complex repairs and parts sourcing
- Help control downtime by supporting and educating production teams
- Maintain inventory of parts, tools, and supplies
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong experience with CNC troubleshooting and repair (required)
- Solid understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals
- Experience working with vendors and managing repair processes
- A mindset of urgency, ownership, and problem-solving
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety

Schedule
- Monday–Friday
- 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM (40–45 hours/week)
