Lead Garment Care Specialist | Evaluation Hire
Location: Newington, CT
Pay rate: $32/hr
Schedule: Monday, 12 pm to 4 pm, Tuesday-Thursday, 8 am to 4:30 pm, and Friday, 8 am to 12 pm (no weekends!!)
Responsibilities:
- Process orders end to end with white-glove care: sorting, stain treatment, washing, drying, folding, hanging, and quality inspection on every garment.
- Hold the line on quality. Catch the things a customer would notice and the things they never should have to.
- Help us design how the work gets done: the steps, the checks, the small systems that make a premium experience repeatable.
- Care for the garments and the home with discretion and respect, treating each as if it were your own.
- Work shoulder to shoulder with the founders to solve the problems that come with getting a business off the ground.
- Bring ideas. You will see things people on the team will miss and the founders want to hear them.
- As the business grows, you will help train and lead processing staff, setting the standard by example and motivating others to meet it.
Duties:
- Lifting and carrying laundry bags throughout the shift, typically 25 to 30 pounds.
- The heaviest bags, in the range of 35 to 40 pounds, can be handled as a team lift. You will not be left to move them alone.
- Moving bags from the sorting area into wheeled carts, and loading and unloading commercial front-loading washers and dryers.
- Standing and walking for most of the shift, up to about six hours on a full eight-hour day.
- Bending, reaching, and squatting regularly, including reaching into lower dryer drums.
- Repeated use of your hands and arms for sorting, folding, and finishing.
- Working in a warm environment. The dryers keep the processing area heated
