Biomedical Repair Technician – Onsite Role
Key Responsibilities
• Troubleshoot, test, and repair warranty and non-warranty medical devices down to the component level.
• Support manufacturing by diagnosing and repairing units from production areas.
• Provide phone and email support to customers regarding generator repairs.
• Document all parts used in customer repairs with clarity and accuracy.
• Enter detailed troubleshooting and repair data into internal systems.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of all documentation related to medical device servicing.
• Ensure legible, precise, and complete recordkeeping.
• Monitor and respond to troubleshooting needs from the production floor.
• Conduct trend analysis on failures from field and production units.
• Perform accurate inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies promptly.
• Communicate effectively across all levels of the organization and with external customers.
• Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements
• Certificate from a Technical School or 2+ years of relevant experience/training in a manufacturing environment.
• Certified IPC Specialist in J-STD-001 Modules 1–4 for Soldering, or ability to obtain and maintain certification.
• Proficient in reading schematics, following written procedures, and using diagnostic tools including:
• Oscilloscopes
• Electrosurgical Analyzers
• Multimeters
• Leakage Analyzers
• Other component-level test equipment
• Strong communication skills are essential.
Work Environment
• This is a fully onsite position.
• Occasional travel opportunities available (typically 1–2 days away from home, if willing).
