Location: (Will be based in Tradition) St. Lucie County, FL
Employment Type: Full-Time
$ Compensation: $100K+ (DOE)
Position Summary:
We are currently seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Estimator to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all facets of the estimating process—from conceptual budgeting to hard bids and value engineering. This position plays a critical role in preconstruction planning and project success by delivering accurate, timely, and competitive cost proposals for a wide range of commercial and residential construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed and comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects during all phases (conceptual, schematic, design development, and final bidding).

Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.

Perform material and quantity take-offs using manual and digital methods (On-Screen Takeoff or similar).

Collaborate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and project managers to clarify scope and obtain competitive pricing.

Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes for accuracy and completeness.

Maintain and update historical cost data and pricing databases.

Assist in value engineering and alternative solutions to meet budget constraints.

Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and project planning sessions as needed.

Develop and manage Excel-based cost spreadsheets and proposal documentation.

Contribute to scheduling and project timelines using tools such as Primavera (P3) or Microsoft Project.
Qualifications & Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of proven experience (10 years preferred) in construction estimating, preferably in commercial or residential sectors.

Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, project sequencing, and cost structures.
- Professional resume, with work history tenure of 3 years at each company of employment

Proficient in reading and interpreting construction plans, drawings, and technical specifications.

Skilled in both manual and digital take-offs, with experience in On-Screen Takeoff or similar software.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with scheduling software (Primavera P3 or MS Project).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to work collaboratively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams.

High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and analytical thinking.

Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage a team multiple projects under tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with value engineering and cost-saving alternatives
- Experience with Construction Estimating Software

Prior experience estimating projects within Indian River and St. Lucie Counties is a plus

Bilingual (English/Spanish) is an advantage
