Job Full Description
Express Employment is seeking a grievance and appeals specialist for a health insurance provider. Job duties include:
- Ensuring cases are accurately classified and categorized
- Preparing comprehensive case histories for presentation and consideration at committee meetings and audits
- Determining if additional information or documentation is needed to make appropriate decisions
- Interpreting and applying business rules, policies, and contract
- Preparing appeal cases to send to an independent specialty reviewer
- Presenting appeal case information to a multi-department committee
Requirements:
- Must have 3 or more years of experience in the health industry or related experience
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Familiarity with ICD10 and CPT coding
- Experience with Individual and Group Contract language
- Customer service and/or claims processing experience preferred
Other details:
- Desired start date as soon as possible
- Position is temporary and expected to end on March 5, 2027
- Pay rate is $27-30/hr.
- Schedule is Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm
- Position is working onsite
