Job Title: Accounts Payable Specialist
Compensation: $22 – $25 per hour, depending on experience
The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling all aspects of the accounts payable process and will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform all general accounts payable functions
- Enter accounting data on a daily basis
- Review and verify all invoices for proper authorization prior to payment
- Prioritize invoices based on payment terms and available cash discounts
- Respond to vendor inquiries in a professional and timely manner
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain organized, accurate files and documentation in accordance with company policies
- Sort and distribute incoming mail
- Assist with other projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Solid knowledge of accounts payable processes and general ledger systems
- Detail-oriented, professional, reliable, and well-organized
- Strong interpersonal skills for communicating with vendors and colleagues
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Completion of college-level accounting courses required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and accounting software (Peachtree preferred)
