Job Full Description

A manufacturer in Crystal Lake, IL is looking to hire a Press Helper Operator for second shift. This hands-on role supports press operations and requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and physical stamina.

Location: Crystal Lake, IL Pay: $18/hour (no experience), $20/hour (with experience) Shift: Monday–Friday, 2:00 PM–10:30 PM Training: First shift, alongside Press Operators

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist Press Operator with production setup and loading materials

• Prep printing plates and gears for cylinder installation

• Check inks from pre-press for PH and viscosity; assist with press startup

• Verify controls and materials for proper run conditions

• Remove setup rolls, return unused ink, and relabel excess material

• Maintain a clean work area and restock supplies

• Clean printing plates and safe portions of the press after each run

Requirements:

• Must be 18+ and able to pass pre-employment reading and ruler tests

• Minimum one year of machine operation experience, or strong mechanical aptitude

• Able to read measurements to 1/16" using a ruler or tape

• Capable of lifting/moving up to 65 lbs without assistance

• Able to distinguish color differences including shades and brightness

• Physically active all shift: walking, squatting, bending, climbing, pulling, lifting
