Warehouse Manager – Huntley, IL
Our client in Huntley is seeking an experienced Warehouse Manager to oversee all shipping, receiving, and logistics operations. In this role, you will ensure accurate inventory management, maintain compliance with safety and regulatory standards, and lead a team to deliver exceptional service at optimal cost.
Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Additional hours and Saturdays required during peak seasons (September–November).
Pay: $60,000–$65,000 annually, with potential for more for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Oversee accurate receiving of goods, verifying quantity and quality.
- Develop and maintain SOPs for shipping and receiving.
- Communicate timely updates to sales, customer service, and operations teams.
- Select and manage freight companies to balance cost and service quality.
- Ensure accurate entry of shipping costs into the Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Work directly with freight forwarders and trucking companies to route deliveries.
- Resolve transportation issues and freight claims promptly.
- Monitor weather conditions for temperature-sensitive shipments.
- Manage logistics tech integrations (ERP, WMS, PaceJet, FedEx stations).
- Schedule and route weekly local deliveries using company van; ensure vehicle maintenance.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA, FDA, FTZ, HACCP, and CBP regulations.
- Lead monthly safety meetings and enforce security and safety protocols.
- Supervise shipping and receiving staff, including hiring, training, and performance management.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years in shipping/receiving and 1 year in a supervisory role.
- Proficiency in inventory software and general computer skills.
- Forklift certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days).
- Strong organizational, communication, and math skills.
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Positive attitude, proactive mindset, and ability to prioritize tasks.
