Our client located in Elgin, is looking for a Buyer to join their team!
This is a Direct Hire position. In this role, you will be responsible for purchasing, inventory management, supplier relationships, and ensuring timely delivery of materials. You’ll play a key role in negotiating contracts, managing supplier performance, and supporting production needs.
Hours:
Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM

In this position, you will:
- Generate and approve purchase orders
- Manage supplier relationships and performance metrics
- Negotiate pricing agreements and qualify new suppliers
- Maintain inventory levels and generate stocking reports
- Coordinate with production for workflow and inventory counts
- Record purchasing data in ERP and Salesforce systems
- Ensure compliance with ISO 13485:2016 standards
Qualifications:
- APICS or related certification preferred
- 5+ years of experience in a related position
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- MRP experience
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, V-lookup, graphs, VB automation)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
