CNC Swiss Setup/Operator – Spring Grove, IL |
Our client, a precision manufacturing company in Spring Grove, IL, is seeking a skilled CNC Swiss Setup/Operator to join their team. In this role, you will program, set up, and operate Swiss-style CNC lathes to manufacture high-precision components while ensuring efficiency, quality, and production readiness.
CNC Swiss Setup/Operator Schedule:
Monday – Friday | 7:30am – 4:00pm
Pay Range:
$25.00 – $30.00/hr (Based on experience)
CNC Swiss Setup/Operator Responsibilities:
- Develop, edit, and optimize CNC programs for Swiss-style lathes (Tsugami) using G-code (Fanuc) and/or CAM software to improve cycle time, tool life, and part quality
- Perform complete machine setups for new and repeat jobs, including selecting and installing tooling (live tooling, sub-spindle, guide bushings), setting offsets, and verifying program accuracy
- Conduct first article inspections (FAI), make necessary adjustments, and prepare machines for production with minimal downtime
- Operate Swiss CNC machines to produce parts to print specifications while monitoring machine performance and making real-time adjustments
- Perform in-process inspections, maintain consistent quality, meet production targets, and troubleshoot machining issues such as tool wear, chatter, and dimensional variation
CNC Swiss Setup/Operator Requirements:
- Minimum 2+ years of CNC setup, operation, and basic programming experience (Swiss machining preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Experience with G-code programming (Fanuc or similar controls) and/or CAM software
- Strong understanding of tooling, offsets, and precision measurement techniques
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
