Job Title: Caster / Foundry Worker
City and State: Crystal Lake, IL
Pay Rate: $17.51 – $22.00/hour (2nd shift includes a 15% shift differential)
Schedule/Shift: 2nd Shift, 3:30pm – 2:00am
Employment Type: Direct hire - $1000 Sign on Bonus!
Summary:
Support foundry operations by preparing molds, melting and pouring aluminum, and maintaining equipment to produce high-quality castings while upholding strict safety and quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare, preheat, and assemble sand and permanent molds to ensure optimal casting conditions.
- Melt aluminum, monitor furnace temperatures, and pour metal into molds with precision and consistency.
- Inspect molds and finished castings, perform quality checks, and troubleshoot casting defects.
- Operate and maintain foundry equipment, including furnaces and strip-out machines, while keeping a clean work area.
- Handle materials, record usage, and use hand tools for finishing, cutting, and shaping components.
Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of manufacturing or foundry experience preferred; relevant training considered.
- Ability to read blueprints, scales, and work orders accurately.
- Experience using hand tools and measuring instruments; familiarity with temperature monitoring devices.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team; forklift experience is a plus.
