Job Full Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have 5–8 years of hands-on accounting experience and a strong understanding of day-to-day financial operations. This role will support multiple divisions and play a key part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting close processes, and assisting with reporting and analysis.
Key Responsibilities:
- Record day-to-day financial transactions, including posting entries to the general ledger
- Reconcile accounts including sales tax, payroll tax, 401(k), and bank statements
- Support month-end and year-end close processes across various divisions
- Monitor financial activity and identify variances or discrepancies
- Prepare financial reports and assist with budgeting and forecasting
- Verify, allocate, and reconcile transactions to maintain accurate financial records
- Analyze department and division data for cost accounting projects
- Support internal and external audits, including data verification and analysis
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, or similar systems
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5–8 years of experience working as a Staff Accountant
- Experience with Business Central/Dynamics 365 and/or QuickBooks Online required
- Strong working knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping principles
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
- Effective communication skills with a proactive, problem-solving mindset
