Job Title: Accounting Clerk – Accounts Receivable
Location: Franklin, IN Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM (flexible to 7:30 AM start) Pay: $24/hour Employment Type: Full-time
Position Overview
We’re seeking a detail-oriented, self-motivated Accounting Clerk to support our Service Department’s Accounts Receivable operations. This role does not require a formal accounting background but does require general bookkeeping knowledge and strong organizational skills. You’ll work closely with our internal teams to ensure accurate payment processing and account reconciliation.
Key Responsibilities
- Process daily payments: credit cards, checks, direct deposits
- Reconcile technician invoices with collected payments
- Run and settle daily batches; scan checks for bank deposit
- Post payments to customer accounts
- Communicate with customers and AP departments to resolve payment issues
- Send invoices and follow up with gentle reminders
- Answer general incoming calls (no dispatch duties)
- Assist with identifying discrepancies in reports (e.g., missing labor charges, unusual part costs)
- Use basic Excel and any accounting software (no specific platform required)
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of general accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred
- Familiarity with debits/credits and payment reconciliation
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot errors in reports
- Comfortable making and receiving phone calls and emails
- Basic Excel skills Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently
