Job Full Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review supplier-submitted NDT technique sheets for compliance with AR-Los Angeles specifications and drawing requirements. Coordinate with suppliers to develop and approve technique sheets.

  • Manage the site NDT supply base, ensuring compliance with requirements for sub-tier suppliers, conducting audits, and assessing potential new suppliers.

  • Review and approve in-house process specifications and NDT techniques.

  • Provide training and testing to Level I and Level II personnel.

  • Develop, review, and approve NDT techniques in collaboration with Level II personnel.

  • Write, review, and approve specifications related to NDT.

  • Support product review boards for inspectability.

  • Prepare for customer and internal audits related to NDT.

  • Lead corrective action reviews for audit or NCR findings.

  • Maintain current Level III certifications and participate in the direction of the NDT department.

  • Conduct audits and surveillance of quality systems and processes.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 9 years of related experience, or a Graduate Degree with 7+ years of experience. In lieu of a degree, 13+ years of relevant experience required.

  • Active Level III ASNT and/or NAS410 certifications.

  • NDT certifications in RT (Radiography), DR (Digital Radiography), UT (Ultrasonic), or PT (Penetrant) preferred.

  • Direct experience with aerospace metallic product testing.

  • Hands-on manufacturing experience and knowledge of manufacturing processes.

  • Proficient in a variety of NDT techniques and equipment; strong blueprint reading skills.

  • Familiarity with industry NDT standards (NAS410, ASTM 1742, ASTM 1417, ASTM 1444, AMS-STD-2154, etc.).

  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; team-oriented.

  • Well-organized with strong computer skills.

  • Auditing experience and Process Certification preferred.

  • Ability to respond to customer needs, including occasional weekend work.
