Quality Inspector
Position Level: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Quality Supervisor
Position Summary: Inspects materials and products for conformance to specifications prior to products being released for shipment.
Essential Job Functions (include but are not limited to):
- Performs various sorting, inspection, and data entry
- Reads, interprets and understands prints and specifications accurately for all product lines
- Inspects product equipment and production processes
- Participates and implements the maintenance of ISO 9001 Quality System
- Reads, interprets and understands location Quality Systems
- Performs and maintains calibration programs for equipment
- Documents details/circumstances involving all assigned job tasks
- Performs statistical process control functions such as CPk, PPAP, FMEA, and gauge R & R, as needed Demonstrates professionalism when representing the company in all communications with internal and external customers and vendors
- Follows all company policies and procedures
- Sustains housekeeping standards in accordance with location appearance guidelines
- Maintains location to internal safety standards and OSHA compliance
- Conscious consideration of the Kirby Risk organization when engaging on social media, mindful of the images and language used
- In addition to the Essential Functions and responsibilities listed above, all positions are also responsible for:
- Emulates the Kirby Risk Values & Principles in daily interactions with internal and external customers
- Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work-related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures

Education/Specialized Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required:
- High School diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
- 1-year relevant work experience
- Strong interpersonal, leadership, and customer contact skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent telephone etiquette
- Demonstrates computer skills and aptitude; Microsoft Office preferred with proficiency in PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills; ability to handle multiple priorities and successfully meet deadlines
- Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal

Training to be completed within 6 Months:
- Comprehensive understanding of the vision, goals and objectives of the business unit
- Company Business System Software
- Company HRMS software
- Company Customer Relationship Management Software
- Internal Safety Training Standards
- Kirby Risk learning paths as applicable to the role
- Successfully complete continuing education required to maintain knowledge of systems and programs
Work Environment:
- Primarily indoors, controlled temperature environment
- May be required to go to customer site where the environmental conditions will vary
- Ability to perform essential functions of the role in a work environment with a variation of noise levels to include high to moderate noise due to hand tools, machinery, heavy equipment, moving motorized vehicles, alarms, vibration, and general conversations
- While performing in this environment the employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration
- Ability to perform in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to work in office environment, utilizing typical office equipment computer, printer, copier, scanner, telephone/cell, all equipment related to area
- Ability to work within a department with several people
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate in a reasonable manner

Safety Requirements:
- Report any unsafe task or operation immediately to management prior to continuing task
- Immediately report incidents involving injury, illness, safety hazard or property damage.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) as instructed by immediate supervisor or customer requirements and Kirby Risk Safe Workplace
- Comply with all company and customer OSHA, safety policies, procedures, rules, and best practices
- Participate in safety meetings and training
- Be constantly aware of personal safety and that of coworkers
- Ability to safely and effectively use and operate all equipment required for work
Physical Requirements:

- Ability to safely move throughout the production floor
- Flexible to work shifts, overtime and weekends when required
