Job Title: Material Handler – Shipping & Receiving (CNC Shop)

Job Summary
The Material Handler is responsible for supporting shipping, receiving, inventory control, and material movement within a CNC manufacturing environment. This position ensures the accurate and timely receipt of inventory and delivery of materials to production areas to support machining operations. The role also includes packaging finished goods, maintaining inventory records, and delivering products to customers using a company vehicle.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive, verify, and store incoming materials and inventory.

  • Deliver raw materials, metal parts, and stock to designated work areas for machining using forklifts, hand jacks, hoists, or overhead cranes.

  • Load and unload materials, parts, and products from pallets, conveyors, or trucks manually or with material handling equipment.

  • Package parts according to customer specifications and Caterpillar IE 2500 requirements.

  • Generate packing slips and prepare materials for daily shipments.

  • Track raw and finished inventory and ensure all finished goods are accurately logged in and out of the inventory system.

  • Operate a company vehicle to deliver products to customers in a timely and professional manner.

  • Follow company driving guidelines and perform basic vehicle safety checks, maintenance reporting, and documentation.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.

  • Communicate with coworkers and supervisors to receive instructions and coordinate daily activities.

  • Follow all OSHA regulations and company safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in shipping/receiving, warehouse, or manufacturing environments preferred.

  • Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, hoists, or overhead cranes (or willingness to be trained).

  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to drive a company vehicle for deliveries.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to track inventory accurately.

  • Ability to lift and move materials and work in a manufacturing environment.

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Work Environment
This position works in a CNC manufacturing and warehouse setting and requires frequent material handling, equipment operation, and movement throughout the facility.
