General Laborer
Location: Kansas City, KS
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 6:30 AM – 3:30 PM
Pay: $19.00/ Hr
A local Kansas City, KS scrap yard is looking to add a General Laborer to their growing team! This is a full-time, evaluation hire position with the potential for direct placement and long-term growth opportunities.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Cleaning out vehicles when they first come in (before dismantling starts)
- General yard labor and equipment operation
- Using hand and power tools
- Assisting other team members across the yard
- Keeping the yard clean and safe
- Working around scrap, machinery, and cars in various stages of dismantling
Work Environment:
- Outdoors, year-round in all weather conditions
- Exposure to dirt, noise, fumes, and other hazards common in a scrap yard
- Safety gear (steel-toe boots, hearing protection, respirators, face shields, etc.) must be worn
What We’re Looking For:
- Someone who’s okay with getting dirty and handling whatever might be inside a car
- Comfortable working in all kinds of weather
- Physically able to move around constantly, lift up to 50 lbs, crouch, bend, push, pull, and work on uneven ground
- Can work independently and stay focused
- Has a basic understanding of tools, equipment, and safety procedures
